Each year Florida Assisted Living Coalition would presents leadership of Florida with two distinctive awards. These awards are the celebration of an individual who is recognized for their profound commitment to your community.

About The Award

Florida Assisted Living Coalition Awards are presented each year to a distinguished Healthcare Hero who in some profound way helps to shape the professional community. The nominees are should be a member of FALC (not required) and hold a rightful designation as an officer with at least one community organization in Florida, preferably with a bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in a healthcare related field. Each recipient must demonstrate exemplary performance and leadership in work ethic, field knowledge, interpersonal adaptive skills, initiate a leadership role, as well as other community organizations. Recipients may have impacted students, seniors or the disabled. These awards are celebrated at an evening or luncheon gathering among family, colleagues and friends. Venue's receive excessive press notoriety, given an award which symbolizes their commitment to "good will" and or is supported by a token "purse" of appreciation.

Industry ICON recipients will participate be retrieving letters of recommendation from clients, patients and friends or by individuals who have been touched in some profound way by the nominee.

Lifetime Achievement Award Criteria:

  1. Candidate must be a Primary Resident of Florida
  2. Actively Mentors Others
  3. Enhances Many lives by Supporting your Community
  4. Accept Pro Bono work
  5. Attended a Florida University*
  6. Member of FALC*
  7. Be a certified or licensed professional*
  8. Media: Must have published articles in related business journals, newsletters or reports
  9. Must have 25+ Years or more experience in their field of expertise
  10. Never been Convicted of a Felony

Traditionally these FALC Awards are presented in tandem with our Annual Spring or Fall conferences. The event is culminated by the distinguished honoree inviting their constituents to participate in their gala celebration. The ICON event is usually held in Palm Beach Florida and the Lifetime Achievement award rotates to various cities in Florida and is presented at a luncheon or dinner venue.

 

 

The Industry ICON Award honors individuals who make a significant contribution.

Submission Guidelines:
All submissions must be received by February 1, of the calendar year of nomination and will be reviewed by the FALC Board of Directors. The Awards Committee reviews each application and selects a winner. Winners are decided in part by their profound commitment and or humanitarian effort. ICON winners however are also decided by the letters of recommendation they gather together by their constituents. We call those "wow" letters. FALC Committee and Board Members are excluded from endorsing a candidate by writing a letter of recommendation but may participate in the recipients tribute the day of the event. A Committee member notifies the award recipient by email. A plaque, profile in the FALC statewide newsletter, and an American Express gift certificate will be presented to the winner at the annual Education Conference, Trade Show, Recognition & Awards reception. The award winner will be featured in an article in the Hospital News & Healthcare Report, and an article will appear right here on the FALC website. A permanent nameplate for the winner will also be added to the Industry Icon Award plaque located in our home office.

*All nominees may be photographed for publicity purposes and featured in our upcoming media campaign which may include print, media and Internet exposure. The nominees bio will be read the evening of the reception.
